How much battering would my 400W CPU have taken?

I've got a 400W PSU - I do not have any idea what brand it is, even by looking at the labels etc.

I'm wondering if it's lost power or anything, obviously it'd be better I've I upgraded the PSU, but seeing I've only got a 4350 and a Stock AMD Phenom II @ 3.1Ghz using about 80W -200W during idle or loads or ~40W-120W with Gigabyte Energy Saver on.

This PSU I think had problems when then a 9600GT was connected and was under load. It was the PSU ran out of power, or GPU overheadted the motherboard was underpowered. That computer had a Asus Motherboard and Asus GPU with a stock AMD Athlon x64 @3.1Ghz

What do you want to know?

A 400W no brand PSU is not worth a piece of shit. Upgarde to the corsair 550W or higher.

roger that roger.

considering you cannot tell us anything meaningful such as a psu make, model or type we only have wattage to go on. very few 400W psus have the required 12V rail amperage to satisfy moder components. PCIe requires 26A, i doubt your pSU can handle that. A 9600GT is a G92/94 chip from nVidia. Not the most power hungry but middle range. That requires a quality 400W PSU or better, not a no name brand piece of shit

Upgrade you PSU.
