How much better IS DVI than Analogue?

I know that DVI is better than Analogue, but would like some sort of idea as to how much. I'm thinking of getting another monitor (Already have an Analogue TFT), and getting the same one would LOOK better and nicer, but I may get a DVI-input TFT, depending on the improvement I would see.

Some people say it is, but I beg to differ... First off, there isn't much of a difference in connections. A DVI to VGA converter is just straight though. The only difference I can really see is at lower resolutions(less than the LCD's native res) your LCD is always centered and what not. With VGA, you'll have to manually adjust the screen(or many also offer auto adjust)

I'm actually running plain VGA on my main system at home simply because I didn't feel like re-routing the cable from my macintosh. My previous Compaq only had VGA...

Wait, where did CRT's come from? I'm on about the difference between an Analogue LCD/TFT and a DVI LCD/TFT.

I may as well get the same, considering my brother gets a discount on it anyway.

My post wasnt to clear. What I meant to say was that there isn't a noticable difference using DVI over VGA if your just using a standard CRT or LCD monitor.

Well what is unstandard?

when you have a monitor wich has both (DVI and VGA ) DVI is significally better, because the VGA on those usually sucks. if you have a VGA monitor and connect it to a DVI port with a adapter, you wont really notice a difference over a DVI monitor. ( even VGA monitor on a VGA card )
