how much better is

I think it's more of the x1600 Pro can barely play newer games on higher settings while the x1300 can barely play newer games.... (probably on med/low settings)

The only difference between X1600pro and X1300pro is that X1600pro can do 3 shader processor for each pipeline, so this means it can do more operation/sec.
but Texture fillrate, pixel fillrate and memory bandwidth are all equal.

So, I think you will not see a big difference in terms of performance if you upgrade to X1600. Get at least 7600GT if you want to see a big difference.

Again, I dont recommend buying the x1600PRO, they are very poor cards. The 7600GS would perform much better, in roughly the same price range.

I think he is waiting for 8600 or 8300, because 8800 is very expensive

not really they are about 450 now, but thats what you end up paying for a DX10 card... and i hear that the 8600 will be outperformed by a 1950xtx extreme, but thats pretty pricey

Now you can buy an 8800GTS for $400 (~$370 after mail-in rebates).

na its not worth the money to upgrade(refering to original question)...and we'll just leave it at that
