You can check for bad sectors...Even still a bad sector isn't all that bad, jsut have they be skipped in reading and writing, also unless you plan on taking the cpu in and out all the time I dont see what a bent back into position pin is all that bad. Sure it's better to have a comptuer without these things, but in reality its not that big a difference.Daniel A-S said:Make sure you find a buyer without much knowledge in computing.
To me a second hand machine is pretty much worthless. You don't know how many sectors are corrupt and how many pins were bent back when the CPU was inserted.
Those are just a few examples. But there are so many other hardware issues that you can't really test. Well.. you probably can, but for a $300/400 computer it's not worth it.Arm_Pit said:You can check for bad sectors...Even still a bad sector isn't all that bad, jsut have they be skipped in reading and writing, also unless you plan on taking the cpu in and out all the time I dont see what a bent back into position pin is all that bad. Course, with the will and all...I try to sell things at a discount to friends and family, as later on they usually return the favor.
