That will really depend on the type pf build planned and whether you are additionally going to be gaming and/or OCing. If the hsf is going to be stock then a good look at some 3rd party cpu coolers would be needed for gaming, ocing, work horse with heavy loads, and multitasking. Whenever you can better the cooling the overall temps remain far more reasonable.
the heatsink/cooling fan i bought is the ZALMAN CNPS9500, my build consists of an intel e6600, 2 gb of ram, asus sli mobo, nvidia 8800gts, and a 700w supply. I also have a case that is amazing on airflow with front and rear case fans. i decided to get harddrive fans for fun haha. do you think im set?
Is there a spot for a fan on the side cover? The same model Zalman is used well here on the AMD 3500+ single core waiting to drop something like the Opteron 185 or FX-60 model in on the 939 board here. But having a few large fans for intake and rear exhaust are what really helps bring the temps down. When first ordered before the present case now used the board saw higher temps then the cpu! The larger 140mm fan and 120mm rear on the Aero Cool saw that drop from some 46-48C right down to 31C! That's a large drop.
