How much could I oc my AMD Athlon 64 FX60 Toledo on stock cooling?

The title says it all. What I mean is how far can my v-core go without having any major temp changes.

I have a Sunbeam Transformer IC-TR-BA Black Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case.

I think it's a bit pointless to OC it, since it performs very well at stock settings.

And to answer the question at hand: It's individual for every CPU.

Yeh I know that that is why I want to know how far I can push it without having to buy some grand cooling system. But when you say it is individual for every CPU do you mean for every one of my core's or for every "CPU"?

The FX's have unlocked multipliers for a reason.
yes that's correct but he meant that why OC it if you don't need that extra performance ?
sounds reasonable !

The reason why people buy the FX series are so they can overclock higher, most of them dont do it for the extra 200Mhz.

true, if you are not going to oc fx-60, i'd say money was wasted,
may be in the future you'd have some advantages over people like me though,,,
you always have the option to oc if required...

the amount of heat it gives off is the same for every step that you raise the vcore... i wouldn't go above 1.45V on stock though.
use speedfan to check temps.
the amount of frequency you get per volt does depend on the cpu though.
it wasn't money wasted, the FX series guarantees high quality cpu... higher than most. i can only o/c my proc to 2.6ghz, and thats at 1.5V. the FX-60 has more cache than my cpu and guarantees 2.6ghz at 1.35V i'd say 2.8ghz should be where you'll end up... if not 3ghz. its been done with X2 3800+'s before... but its much less likely with an X2 that the FX-60
it all depends on how much the CPU speed is worth to you (some people are real enthusiasts and have the money for it) the FX series has unlocked upward multipliers which is what makes it worth it to some people. myself... i think dual core is definitely worth the upgrade, but the extra $700 for the FX-60 is definitely not worth dropping. my cpu didn't even cost HALF the difference lol
