How much faster is this cpu

i have a Quad Q6600 2.4GHZ stock with 8mb L2 1066. I would like to know how much faster would the Q9450 2.6GHZ 12mb L2 1333 be. Lets say i OC my CPU to 2.6GHZ to mach the Q9450 would the 12mb L2 and the 1333FSB make a huge difference between my current one ?

The difference wouldnt be vary noticable at all IMO unless your going to run some detalied benchmarks, it certainly isnt worth getting if you already have the quad, stick with the Q6600 and overclock it if you can!!

OC'ing your Q6600 into the 3.0-3.6 GHz range would probably yield much better performance than switching to the 9550 at stock.

yea, just overclock somewhat with your Q6600. i mean it still has 4 cores, and it'll still run applications just fine. the only real difference is the fact that it has 1.5x the amount of cache, otherwise the performance is extremely similar per clock for most applications.
