How much heat can it take?

My card is a BFG GeForce 7950GT OC. It runs at 65C idle, and that's with me setting the fan fairly high, and when gaming it gets into the mid 90s. I know that's ridiculously hot. How long can I expect this thing to last under those conditions? No artifacts as yet, and as far as I know it's been doing this for a long time, at least a few months (didn't look at the temps much before then). I cleaned out my case with air just a few days ago.

I'm thinking thermal shutdown for these cards is in the 100*C range. Insane, but I do know they tend to get much hotter than say a typical CPU. While it should be alright for the most part, it certainly could stand to be lower.

I'd check your fan. Be sure it's not being blocked or anything. Check it's spinning freely. I guess if you blew out the case, you could also confirm all the dust was cleared from the heatsink, and you didn't just make a massive clump in there :P

Oh, the fan's spinning all right, and the temps did go down by a few degrees after cleaning it so I definitely didn't make anything worse. I suppose I should stress it up to 100 and see what it does.

Yeah that is ungodly warm. You do have AS5 on it right? Might want to get a custom cooler.
My 8800GT OC only runs at 48idle 60 highload.
