depending on the motherboard, no more than $200 here

diablo 450watt PSU
15a on the 12v rail --> $15

hpdvd630 16x dl
liteon dvd-rom xj-hd166s
hitachi-lg cd-r/rw gce-8486b[/quotei]
the liteydvdrom is nice but dvdroms generally arent worth all that much, $50 here.

fic au31 mobo bious version tcb4326
ok now i'd peg the CPU, ram and mobo @ $180

apc battery backup - UPS es 500 rated at 15mins
$80

Putting it together in a single package adds no more than $100, another $60 for the monitor and less $75 for the "used effect" and add the cost of the drives and accessories id not pay more than 400USD for it. :)

lol, on this system i would be lucky to break even, i almost have about 650 in it. This used to be my desktop but i upgraded it and i was planning to sel for profit, but o well now, i guess ill prolly keep this one 4 myself:)

edit: and praetor , i know u hate that psu , but im about to sell it for 35 bucks!!:)

He doesnt hate it, it's just not that good. You need at least 24A on the 12v rail, but i tend to go further and look for 28-35A

don't go ultra, bad psu's, cheaply made in tawian I believe.
1. Lets stay on topic
2. Their 400W PSUs are bad. Not their Xconnect 500W models and even if you wanna get stupidly picky, their 2004 revs were awesome and their 2005 revs are definitely above-average
