How much is this Labtop Worth?

Hello Computer enthusiastics! I just recently purchased a Labtop for college, and my main reason for the purchase was portability, and reliability, so it can get expensive. I purchased a 14" Labtop with less then 1.05" thickness with these specifications.. I just wanted people's opinions on how much this Labtop is worth total, (Price, Shipping+Tax included) as i purchased this from hp.com. Are its specifications strong? Predict its Life Span (How long it will last if taken care of). I customized this PC, before purchasing it new from hp.com upgrading many things.

-HP Pavilion Notebook PC
-Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit.
-System Recovery DVD with Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
-Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-640M Dual Core Processor (2.8GHz, 4MB L3 Cache) with Turbo boost up to 3.46 GHz
-1GB DDR3 ATI Mobility Radeon(TM) HD 6370 Switchable Graphics [HDMI, VGA]
-8GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)
-640GB 7200RPM Hard Drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection
-One 6 Cell (standard) and One 9 Cell (over-sized) Lithium Ion Battery.
-14.0" diagonal High-Definition HP BrightView LED Display (1366x768)
-SuperMulti 8X DVD+/- R/RW with Double Layer Support
-HP True Vision Webcam and Fingerprint Reader
-Intel 802.11b/g/n WLAN and Bluetooth(R) with Wirelss Display Support
-Standard Keyboard
- HP Home & Home Office Store in-box envelope

Please tell me what you think. Thank You!

there isn't any real good answer for this.

how much did you paid, and where did you bought it?

i doubt it was cheap and there isn't really a way to tell how much a laptop is worth, only thing if it's new it's retail price (what store charger and everwhere it's different) and if it's used, well it depends on how bad the person selling wants to get rid off and will sell for good discount. different brand charges different price as well for the main fact that manufacture (like intel, their mobo manufacture and their case manufacture, lcd maker) all charges different price for same item.

I dont want to tell you how much i paid because i dont want biased answers. I bought it new from hp.com. Please tell me how much you think its worth from looking at its specifications. Thank You!

It's not bad, I can see that you've sacrificed the screen though. I'd have gone with the Envy series if I had that much money for it.

well that's the main i want to know before i can give you good answer, if you bought from HP than you paid right price for parts but since you bought it from HP than you might have paid little more. as they charge tax and don't give out much discount (they do give it out but not much)

if you've bought it from other vendor like newegg or amazon, you could have end up paying much less, least i'll say $100 (of what you paid after discount if you had any) or up to $300 depending on the deal they've right now including rebates. you might have to spent $15-30 more for ordering recovery media but it would have been good.

the bottom two aren't as important as rest, as i'm not sure how good are you with PC/laptops.

i'm sure you did do 8GB ram upgrade form regular 3 or 4 GB ram or 6GB which i've seen only HP do that on option, is wate of money ( i suppose it was somewhere around $50-60) cause 6GB is more than enough ram. or you could have upgraded to 8GB for around $70 and sell the remaining ram for good price and get back a little. or bought another 4GB stick for around $40 and could have saved there.

don't know if you upgraded the HD, but it was another mistake as the charge premium for it, for $60 you might have paid, you could have gotten 640GB HD and replaced yourself which might have been easier since you already ordered the system restore. or for $60 you could have gotten good deal on SSD and have increase your performance a lot.

rest is alright, but you could have save around $300 easily if you've done some research.

oh worst part of all and sorry to say this but the CPU and video card upgrade i hope don't raise your laptop temperature as i've seen many HP laptop had that happened.
