How much of an upgade; AMD 3500+ to 4600+

Title says it all. How much of an upgrade would I be looking at going from the AMD 3500+ to the 4600+?

It would be a pretty good upgrade, but nothing earth shattering.

What are the specs on the rest of the computer? It might not be worth it.

currently the rest of my comp is 1gig of ram and I will have a ATI x1950pro by the time I get the processor

Is it DDR ram or DDR2? It might be a good upgrade, though I would hesitate to spend more money on a DDR setup.

Well I have upgraded from an AMD Athlon 64 3200+ to an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+, there is a slight difference on startup time and running small apps but you really see the difference when you do alot of stuff or run intensive programs - The 3200+ would run slow but the X2 4600+ just speeds ahead
