I'm considering about a Chieftec 600W Super Series PSU... What ya think?

Me personally...I like a little extra power. I would not put under 650w in that build. I would even say up around 700w or 750w. And by the way, Cheiftec...uh, no. That's some nice hardware to risk with a shoty PSU. You can find some really good deals on good name brand power supplies with good warranties if you shop around. In the end you will be much better off with a decent power supply.

Here is an OCZ 700w modular for $100. It also has a $30 mail in rebate and free shipping. That's of course assuming you are from the U.S.

***EDIT***

By the way...MSI K92A motherboards run DDR2 in dual channel mode. Getting 3 x 2GB sticks of RAM might be counter productive for performance. This could cause stability issues only filling 3 DIMM slots with RAM.

2 x 2GB will be just fine:)

Thanks

Thanks for the advices mate!

I'm going to get a Corsair 700w PSU with a nice warranty of 5 years.

I guess it's probably too late to chime in, but here goes...

I looked up your video card...

You should be OK. If you are planning any kind of SLI config in the future, here's what I've found...

500W w/ 2 6-pin PCIe connectors.
600W w/ 4 6-pin PCIe connectors.
125W AMD Phenom II X4 940BE.

I personally would add a few more Watts to cover the rest of my system load.

Good Luck!:good:

Yea i got a TX750 on it and i'm currently waiting for my components :)

Tyvm for the help and great advices!

Also i'm now also thinking between a Windows XP Pro 64-bit that it previously used or installing a Vista on the new set-up?
Please tell your own experiences, I'm considering Vista only beacause of DirectX 10 ;)

I love Vista x64 bit. Lets me use all 6Gigs of my RAM. =D

Plus, it looks way nicer than XP, it boots faster than XP,
everything is quicker for me in Vista, and the indexing
function rocks.

If you plan to Crossfire, Get a 750W or 850W.
Or with single 4870 Chieftec 600W will be fine.

by the way, why you go for 3 x2GB RAM, it support dual channel as far as my understanding... Just get a pair of 2 GB...

True. Using 3 of 4 slots will make the memory only run in Single Channel mode.

Dual channel boards were made for pars of 2. :good:
