nope, but its nice to know its there, and IF I ever need to do some serious gaming then I take out two sticks to run T1

I've got a gig and a half but its PC2700. Does the speed of it really matter or is it quantity that is important?

depends on how much of a quantity difference is compared to speed. They both have advantages.

That confused me more than anything. :D
Ok like comparing pc3200 to pc2700 if it is 1gb of pc 3200 and 2gb of pc2700 then the 2700 will probably be faster, since the amount difference is large. But if it is like 1gb of pc 4800 compared to 2gb of pc2100 then the pc4600 would be better since it is so much faster. And timings make a difference too.

I beg to differ there... Realize most software doesn't even require 1G, much less 2. This being the case, regardless of the amount you have, if you only are using 512M, then more memory wouldn't be helpful at all. Plus it all depends on the chips themselfs. You can get fast PC2700 memory, or slow PC3200(latancy, the actual speed of the chips, etc etc...) Also, if you have say 2x 512M and 4x 512M both setups running at PC3200, the one with only 2 would probably run faster. That'd due to the 2T and all that crap...I still havn't read up much about it.

Eh, anyway, I have 2G in my machine :o

No, I know it isn't that simple, there are always cases where it depends on the situation. I was just trying to show that it really can go either way and one isn't necissarily better then another, except for certain instances.

And quantity is a much larger difference than speed. Going from 512MB to 1GB you will see a much bigger leap (at least in regular computer usage) than going from 200MHz to 400MHz of the same quantity.

Well you and the other one are actually say the opposite, so...
Like I said it all depends on the application and its ram usage.
