How Much Should I Spend?

Im thinking about building a computer and want to ask advice for parts but first i need a price to start from. Im mostly going to be using the computer for music and maybe some games also if thats not too expensive.

If you are just going to be using the computer for music and minor gaming you could just get a pre-built model from HP. The base model starts at 299 and then you can just upgrade the graphics card and hard drive. At most the computer shouldn't cost you more than 500.

I dont really have a budget yet. I was wondering what the price range is on a good computer for music and games.

Ps. I would use Vista
