ThatGuy16 VIP Member Dec 28, 2007 #2 Well.. the 3870 performs with the 8800GT. I would say the 3850 would still be an upgrade from a 320mb GTS. From what i have seen anyway. The 3870 and 3850 use the same core. But the 3870 has GDDR4 memory thus it can clock higher.

Ramodkk VIP Member Dec 28, 2007 #3 Heres a comparison between the 3850 and the 3870: http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php?card1=546&card2=547 And here's one between 3850 and 8800GTS 320MB: http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php?card1=546&card2=475 So I would say the HD3850 performs about the same as the 8800GTS 320MB if not a little better. But I've heard that with good cooling, you can overclock the HD3850 close to HD3870 speeds which would easily let the 8800GTS 320MB down. Hope that helped! Last edited: Dec 28, 2007

Ramodkk VIP Member Dec 28, 2007 #5 I'm more than happy with the HD3870! I went from 25fps on oblivion on low to 60+fps on high, what else could I ask?
