I am in need of an updated computer and this time I want something gaming capable. What is the computer equivalent of an Xbox 360 or PS3? Would an Intel i5 2500K with a GeForce 550ti be good enough to handle most games with the same quality as the Xbox 360? What about an AMD Phenom II 965 with the GeForce 550ti? Would the FX4100 be better than the Phenom II? Another concern of mine is the power supply. I want something that can handle everything comfortably but I don't want to go crazy. How many watts would it take to handle the i5 2500K and 2 GeForce 550tis? I want enough power to be able to upgrade in the future. Also, I heard that the power supply should be PLUS certified? What's the deal with the PLUS and the PLUS Bronze and all of that?
Also, if it matters I am gunna want to play on my hdtv. It's a 32" lcd and I think the resolution is 1920x1080. I currently have it hooked up to my 360 with HDMI. Would it be easy to hook up the computer to the tv and use it as a monitor? Does the motherboard have to have an HDMI port or could I use the one on the GeForce 550ti? As you can see I am pretty overwhelmed with all of the options and I would appreciate any help!
