I work for a company that builds computers, and I was wondering what you guys thought would be an appropriate price for the following system. Keep in mind, this is available in a retail store, so obviously it can be built for cheaper on Newegg.

Core2Duo e8400
2x1GB PC6400 Crucial Ballistix Tracer
Gigabyte P45
500GB WD Sata HDD
1GB HIS Radeon 4850
Antec nine hundred
Thermaltake 500watt PSU
SATA Samsung DVDRW
19" Acer Widescreen LCD
G15 keyboard
G5 Gaming mouse
No-name stereo speakers
Choice of WXP Home or Vista Home Premium

Right now, for the package, we are asking $1400. You think it will sell?

well if i need a new computer and i saw that in a shop then id pay that for it. that is a lot cheaper than what PC world are selling it for. hope you sell it :)

As mac550 said, that is a good price for a retail computer. You could probably raise the price a little and sell it to the general public.

Yea that is fairly cheap for pc monitor mouse keyboard. I saw gateway at circuit city with worse specs and more expensive.

i think thats quite a deal, especialy if it includes the Operating system aswell.

For the customer its cheap and great deal you get everything for $1400, but is it worth it for the seller, will he take more money for it then he put in the system.

we are making a 22% profit on it, which is already a fairly steap margin.

I'd buy it.

And so will the general public based on what all the big brands charge, it's worth it. :)

Are you kidding me? :P

To use 22% is a lot, big corporations make like 300% in some cases. ;)
