How op is 16 gigs of ram?

I am building a new desktop computer and are not sure "if 16 or 8 gigs". Can somebody help me??

What do you want to use the PC for?

you only need 16GB if you can use it. If you are not doing CAD, photo editing or the like then 8GB is the most you need for most applications.

You won't go over 8GB even rendering video at the same time. Video rendering is more CPU oriented than anything.

A case you mean? Corsair Carbide 300R is a good, affordable one.

Do you need water cooling? Are you going to go crazy with overclocking? What CPU are you going for?
