how permanently delete file from hard disk?

Hi all, this is my first post.

I have searched for the answer all over the internet but didn't find any.

My situation:
- I deleted files from the recycle bin (*.avi; *.mpeg; etc.)
- I discovered that the files can be recovered and seen with any recovering program, so they still exist but only in the Hard Disk
- The computer isn't mine, is the one where I work.
- Now, I would like to delete ONLY some selected files from my hard disk (they can't be seen normally, but only with a recovery program), so that they can never be recovered.

Question:
How do I delete files that are already "permanently" deleted but still exist ?
Is it possible to do it without reformatting or wiping (shredding) the whole Hard Disk (partition) ?

Sorry if my explanation isn't clear and detailed enough.

Well,
the hard capacity is like a cycle when you delete nothing is removed until the hard disk is full and it start overwrite the old data, so by that way you will be sure that these files are removed
but I don't know if there might be some program that could do your needs
 
Just a thought but you could try to defragment your hard drive. It is going to move a lot of files around so you might have a pretty good chance of overwriting those files...
