How Slow?

Hi,

If 4 people are using wireless in a house and one person then connects wired, would this decrease the internet speeds for the 3 people still on wireless?

It would slow everyone's browsing speed down, If everyone is sharing the same connection. The more people on the same connection the more clogged it gets, Wired or Wireless. It matters how fast your connection is

i wouldn't worry about that much. the question would be if he's uploading or downloading. if your visiting your favorite website, checking email and browsing this will not be an issue. upload or download is.

Thats why I hate gaming when the 2 other computers on my home network are using the internet...argh 300 ping spike!

Thanks for the response guys. I'm sharing a house with a 2.5 m/bs connection and someone in the house has decided (without asking) to connect to it wired. Do you think this is unreasonable and I should counter it with connecting wired? Also he does download a lot of stuff.
