Briefly Im gonna tell you what makes me come to this problem
A few days ago, my computer turned itself off, probably because of overheating, since then Im always stuck between my window loading screen (the black screen with window logo) and the welcome screen. Basically I'm stuck all the time in the blue screen with the windows XP logo.
I tried all solutions, safe mode, repairing windows, etc. I cannot re-install windows since I don't have enough disk space, so I guess the only solution is to reformat my disk, but before I need to save my important datas.
So, first; what I did is I used knoppix to transfer my files on my flatmate's external hard drive, but then knoppix couldnt write into it cuz it's NTFS formatted. So I bought an external hard disk case to put my laptop's hard disk into an external disk and copy the files from my flatmate's computer.
This is where the problem comes, I can access everyhing except for Documents and settings/(myloginname)
Since all my important documents are over there, Im once again stuck. I can still access those files with knoppix on my computer, I suppose it's a problem of ownership and those files are protected by my login which has a password and I cannot take off the password since I cant get in to my windows.
So I'd like to know if somone has a solution for it, that'll be great, I've been trying to change the folder properties on my own but I didnt manage to. Do I need a special software maybe??? THanks a lot for your help
