ok hopefully this is the last question i need to ask before i get this thing together...but i got an evga 8800GTX graphics card lightly used, but with an aftermarket heatsink used on it, that also came with it (HR-03). for shipping purposes...he took off the aftermarket heat sink and all the little heat sinks that stick on the memory spots and put the stock fan on there. now...i wanna use the HR-03 and the little heat sinks...but they dont stick now. how can i get em to stick...but not insulate between the 2 surfaces? they still have the lil sticky pad on em...it's just not sticky. dno if i should keep that on there or not as well. thanks again in advance :)

does that stuff actually stick em tho? wasnt sure if it was just a conductor or acted somewhat as an adhesive. i have some arctic silver sittin here right in front of me if that's all it'll take...

The heat passes through and its for sticking stuff..

like when you put the heatskink on the processor

well hell...i thought it was just a conducting 'lube' more or less. well...never mind my question i got the stuff right here then :p but thanks tho man!

Don't listen to him, most thermal paste isn't adhesive.

First contact your seller and tell him he's a retard for removing the memory heatsinks; those are only meant to be installed once.

Second, there are certain thermal pastes that are adhesive, so you could either get some of that, or order more memory heatsinks by themselves. I think Zalman sells some.

I'd get the links but my faggot roommate is torrenting something.

No way is the ANY kind of adhesive thermal paste is going to stick the HR-03 onto that card. Didn't the seller ship you the mounting screws and brackets for the heatsink? I'm pretty sure you bolt the HR-03 onto the card with a back plate, or something along the lines of that.

He isnt talking about the actual heatsink, he is talking about the ram sinks.

You can mix thermal paste with epoxy, or artic sells some sort of adhesive solution.

you can either use this type of stuff

Or just generic double sided tape, any double sided tape will work realy, but i think it would be wise to stick with the thing i listed, as it is a specialist product.

ahhhh ok thanks for the extra help and links :D

and yeah...not the actual heat sink for the card...just the tiny lil memory heat sinks heheh
