how to block a program.

Hello all, i need your help, my boss ask me to block some program at my office such as yahoo or skype to prevent some of workers who always use yahoo and skype during working time.
For your information, my company using firewall Netscreen SSG-5 and use domain network with windows server 2008.

You could stop people from installing it. Don't give them admin rights and uninstall if they have it.

You could stop the programs from being able to communicate outside. Lookup the port the programs use and create a rule that blocks that port going to outside network.

Maybe you have a software on your computer that you don't want the program to be run.

You can block any program through the firewall.

Depends on the OS. Only windows vista (not sure though) and windows 7 provide advanced firewalling options by default. And if the users are local admin they can still change those. If they aren't local admin you'd be better of deleting the application all together.
