How to change operating systems.

I currently have Windows 8. The computer is used mainly for The Microsoft Flight Simulator. From the opinion of many simmers Windows 7 is better. They claim there are certain issues with Windows 8 that could cause problems. I have a Windows 7 Home Premium disc. right here on my shelve. How difficult would it be to change my operating system ? I have a WD External Hard Drive, would I have to do something with that? Thanks in advance

Personally I would wait for Windows 8.1 to come out here in the next week or so, and it is only free for those who already have Windows 8, if you want to upgrade from Windows 7 to 8.1 you will have to pay. Yes you could use that Windows version you have and should be just as compatible, unless you installed it on another machine already and used for serial for that. Windows is only good for one computer I believe which means if you used it then you will need a new serial, if you have not used it yet then your good to go.

Just remember it is a smart idea to back up all your content first and if you do not have a disc from the OEM get your drivers from them as well, if you built it your self then still make sure you have your drivers.

First place the disc in the computer, then reboot the computer and hit esc - F12 to enter your bios. Go to your boot boot options and set it to boot from disc, then save and exit. Then the computer will boot from your Windows disc and follow the instruction, very easy to install. Remember this will wipe your HDD completely clean so your backup and drivers will be needed once you install Windows 7.
