How to change WOW version 1.9.4 to something lower...

How do I install the World of warcraft 1.8.0 patch? It came with 1.9.4 already installed. Is there a way to "un update it" back to version 1.8.0 ? I need it to play on private servers.

From what I know private servers are illegal, and talking about something illegal is prohibited on this forum. Plus you posted two threads about this.

There's a reason why WoW comes shipped as a version which stops what you want to do, you know.

But he is asking how to do something that will allow him to do an illegal activity. It's kinda the same thing as someone asking the question "What is a good program for ripping DVDs. I want to rip some DVDs are rented from a store."
 
I'm not so sure your going to be able to do that (could be mistaking). Usually when a patch recognized a game as the same version or newer it refuses to install.

You can't downgrade it. As far as blizzard is concerned, there is no reason to downgrade it for legal puposes, so they make it so you can't downgrade.

Uninstall the game. Reinstall and try and find the right version patch(which will be close to impossible). If you have a recent copy of Wow however that comes with a later version already installed, then you are up a creak without a paddle.

I'm sorry but private servers are illegal. You wont recieve help here to connect to them. If you have a legal copy of WOW then I suggest you play the way it was intended. On a legal server.

There is no assumption made. He clearly said "I need it to play on private servers."

Therefore he is seeking advice on how to do somthing that is illegal.. Pretty cut and dry from where I sit.
