DO NOT!!! Want to mess this up on my comp again
Its not really possible to **** up that bad if you take some quick precautions (like backing up a copy of your NTOSKNRL.EXE file ... pop in the W2K/WXP cd, goto the recovery console and copy that backup to the C:\Windows\system32 folder
Can u provide me with super clear instructions on changin your boot screen?
1. Grab photoshop or paintshop pro or something (the rest of this assumes photoshop)
2. Create a 640x480 BMP ... knock youself out
3. Convert it to the atttached color scheme
4. Save it in as a BMP
5. Grab resource hacker (
http://www.users.on.net/johnson/resourcehacker/)
6. Load up C:\Windows\System32\NTOSKRNL.EXE
7. Replace Resource 1 or 2 (depending on WXP Home/Pro)
8. Save somewhere
9. Reboot into safemode
10. Move the saved copy of NTOSKRNL that made to C:\windows\system32
