How to clean this fan (image included)

Hi everyone,

I'm attempting to clean the fan on my Advent Centurion CBE1401, but not sure how,

As you can see from the image below it's water cooled so i'm worried if i try to remove the fan that I'll release the liquid in the pipes somehow.

My only aim is to clean the internal fans as the computer keeps switching off due to over-heating because the fans are to blocked especially the fan in the image. The image below is not taken of my PC (just the same PC model), as in my fan the grill you can see is completely blocked.

So I'm desperately looking for help on how to go about cleaning it.

Just pick up one of those cans of compressed air. You can get them really cheaply. Then just spray the air into the fans and all the dust should come flying out.

Just make sure before you spray into the fan that there is no moisture coming out the can. You don't want any moisture inside your PC.

Hi spirit,

Thanks for the reply.
Yes i do plan on getting some compressed air tomorrow, but i just wanted to know how to clean this specific fan, as i don't know whether i should be removing it or not...

I think the 'fan' you're talking about is the radiator... and to clean it all you'll have to do is spray compressed air at it. however, make sure that you spray the air INTO the case, because if you do it the other way you may get dust lodged in the fins of the radiator.

Are you referring to the fan on the opposite side of the radiator ?

It depends how dirty it is, you can use a can of compressed air or if it needs a through clean detach the radiator and clean the fan with toothbrush or similar.

Thanks for the reply's,

I cleaned the whole computer out with the compressed air, and unscrewed the radiator so i could give it a more thorough clean, but unfortunately this didn't work, the computer still goes dead for seemingly no reason. So i guess I'm back to square one.

EDIT: Yes i thought the radiator was some kind of fan lol shows what a noob i am when it comes to hardware.

If you've got a stock cooler, then try it, maybe the pump on that watercooler is going out. and revert any over clocking that may have occurred to the CPU.

Yes, try another cooler and remove any overclocking.

What power supply do you have? They can be the cause of the PC randomly turning off.
