how to copy program files

is it possible to copy program files from one computer to another?.....even if i do not have the original install disks for the program?

The easiest way to do it is just reinstall. That program that strollin is talking about really doesn't work. We had a member use it not too long ago and only about 50 percent of his programs work. But who is to say everything got copied over correctly. Reinstall the programs fresh.

Depends on the program, but many applications store dependencies in other areas of your computer, like the Windows folder, local user folder, registry, etc. Especially with applications that deal with activations, trying to move them is not easy.

If you have the install disks then that certainly is the better alternative. The PCMover software may not work on all of your programs but it may be the ONLY alternative if you don't have the disks to reinstall.
