Hello guys,
My friend's computer has been infected by virus very badly. It won't even let the win. xp (pre-installed on the computer) load properly. I tried to run command prompt but it won't let it. Now I have no option left other than to format his Hard drive and install new win. xp.
I have 2 GB USB.
Please someone help me create a bootable USB (that boots with command prompt) so that I can install downloaded WIN. XP S3 on his computer.

Any comments or suggestions of this kind'd be appreciated.

cheers,
xhunter.

To my understanding, it's illegal. You can do it with linux, but windows is a different story.

Why don't you boot windows off the CD and install it that way?

I don't know why booting from usb is illegal.
On the other hand i would also like to know why not cd?
the drivers are available . query panasonic, usb, boot, drivers.

On the otherhand i can boot anyway in the bios to include usb.
ya have to make a system boot disk and add the drivers the edit the config.sys. maybe the autoexec.bat.
ive posted information on this before here. there is freeware available if ya use the search function at the home page. they also will boot from and with usb support with the process.

Because you are modifying windows to boot off of a USB instead of a CD. If you have ever done it with linux, you'll know why. You have to tweak a lot of things to get it to actually boot.

I'm not saying there is a difference, I am saying you have to modify the OS to get it to boot off a USB device, and that's why i think it would be illegal (proprietary software).

i think the legality of this could go both ways, i for one dont see how its illegal, your not modifying any of the windows files, only thing you do and i just did this u make the bootable usb with a program then all i had to do was copy contents from the cd to the directory on the usb, so how is that modifying files, if this is illegal then so is nlite, which modifies windows itself, u can tweak files and everything else.
