how to dual boot vista and xp??

hi
i installed xp proffesional cuz i needed to run some programs but i still want to use vista so i installed it on another partition but now i can only use vista. is there any way how i can use both without installing xp or vista again???
 
You should be able to press F8 before the boot screen and select whether you want to boot to XP or Vista. Is that available to you? If not we may need to edit the boot loader.
 
no thats not available. there's only 1 option to boot from the hard drive and 1 to boot from a cd and if i select the hard drive it boots only vista.
 
No, not at the post screen. Before the boot logo press F8 and the window for Safe Mode, etc will come up. Select "Start Windows Normally" and see if XP is in the list.
 
if i press f8 where it says start safe mode etc and press start windows normally it just boots vista.
i tried the program vistabootpro and now when i restart the laptop it gives me the option to boot from vista or xp but if i select xp it says i'm supposed to insert the xp installition disk and repair windows cuz it can't boot. Do i have to reinstall xp or not???
