Hi
I have an ipod with all my songs and pictures on it. My mac decided to leave for good and I now have a pc. Only problem is I have no idea how to retrieve everything from my ipod. It's my only copy of thousands of pounds worth of music and the last 7 years of photos!

Anyone able to help?

Thanks:)

A simple google search would yeild a few hundred programs that can do what you want. Although I think you'll only be able to find trial versions, which limit you to about 100 songs before you have to buy it to continue.

I had to do the same thing a while back, forgot to backup my music before changing computers and got stuck with all my music on my ipod. Don't want to recommend any programs though in case it can be thought of as hacking/illegal?

Well, I believe their should be an exception to this case because he has thousands of dollars put into it, and photo's that have sentimental value. I'll Google a little and see what I find.

Well, to try and keep things most legitimate I'm going to try and sway you away from pirating software, so if you look at this their are a few programs that will do what you need, but their are also two free ways listed further down. If you need more help tell me.

Its actually pretty hard to get the songs out of your ipod as I tried to do it myself a couple of years ago. One of the ways is going into the ROOT folder of your ipod but the problem with that is that you will see weird files which is actually an encryption of the song. Taking those out and then putting them back should work fine although sometimes there may be complications.

There is another way which involves buying a program that does it for you. You can download trials but its limited.

While this is not explicitly illegal, it is going in to a highly gray area of the EULA for iPods, so let's just stay away from that in general. And while I understand this is a legitimate query, it unfortunately falls into the same realm as many less legitimate reasons...
