I've recently installed a new copy of windows and after that, there is only 16-color display. I cannot fix it because I don't have the driver information.
Is there any way(software...) that I can find out what kind of video card I have so that I can download its driver?

Please let me know.
Thanks.

some programs like everest or sandra can try to read what card you have installed. Windows should try to autodetect it and install a driver for it (not just a basic VGA driver)

Sometimes you can find out its make and model from a printed label on the card itself, or you might be able to read that information from the Start-up boot message that usually flashes by. However, with some PCs, that information is replaced by your motherboard information or the logo for the company that assembled your PC.

how bout right click, properties, then settings? it would say wat kind like if its nvidia or ati, then when it tells u , get da driver from ati site or nvidia site , after installin it , it will clearly say wat videocard is urs

i know atomic said it but yea this is the fastest easiest way, go to run on the start menu and type in dxdiag. it goes into the direct x diagonstics and shows other things too like the amount of physical memory on ur system and so on... but make shur u have some version of direct x installed or it wont work, probably shouldnt b a problem considering almost every PC has direct x ;)

o ya i forgot u could just use device manager in the system button in the control panel! that would be alot easier than opening your comp
