Im just wondering how easy it is to fit a serial ata hard drive. Is it just a case of fitting the hard drive plug the power source and serail ata cable in and then installing the os.

It's basically the same as an IDE drive, but easier. Once you get it installed and secured in your case, you just connect the SATA and SATA power cable to the hard drive, and the SATA cable to the motherboard. Unlike IDE, there arent any jumpers to mess with.

easier than installing IDE drives. same concept except you dont have to worry about masters and slaves.

there is a jumper on the back to change the speed of the hdd incase the mobo only supports sata 1 and the drive is sata11.

the jumper isnt always there, as its not really needed. SataII backward compatible anyway :)

I would say fitting a serial ata is about the second easiest thing after changing ram :D
