how to get duel channel DDR2 800

ok i have 6G (3x2G) an it was single chanel i thourt 4G at duel channel would be better so i took out one of the 2G chips looked in my MOBO book where to put the two chips for duel channel i had them in the rite places but still single channel plz help

hmm, if you have colored slots ensure that the same color is used by the RAM. If this is done, or all DIMM slots are of the same color, I think you need to configure your BIOS.

Tom's Hardware found no significant difference between single-channel and dual-channel configurations in synthetic and game benchmarks (using a "modern" system setup). Generally speaking, dual channel configuration is a very minor upgrade, and without other system tweaks, the difference may not even be noticeable.

What slots did you put the 2 sticks in, about all Gigabyte boards you put them in the same color slots

i got it now the book is full of shit it said to enabal duel channel put the chips in 1 and 3 or 2 an 4 or all for an it did not work so i did the coller thing an put the in the same coller an it worked

Yeap most Gigabytes are the same color.

It depends, it's up to the motherboard manufacturer to determine the colors for the memory slots.
