How to get to a website - Help

I use a forum website that is linked to the career I want to go into however I cannot get to it. Nothing happens; it just says connecting and then operation time out. Its not a problem down my end because other sites work fine. Also I doubt it’s a problem with the site since I can get to it when I use different computers e.g. my colleges.
I believe what has happened is the site could have blocked me or something. This is due to a rather uneducated post early on. I have learnt and would love to get back to the site.
I use firefox, but I doubt that makes a difference since it also doesn't work on explorer either
I have used sites like www.alienproxy.com and other proxys to get to the site but it is really slow. I am just wondering whether anyone has any suggestions about how I can solve this problem.

I myself have been noticing this on many websites (and not just forums) the past week or so. I'll click on a link or a bookmark, wait a while, and instead of getting a "timed out" message, nothing at all will happen except the word "Done." will appear in my browsers' Status Bar. I've noticed this with Netscape, FF, and IE, so all I can say is that you're not alone in this.
