How to improve 3dmark 05' score

I ran 3dmark 05' and I got a score of 3970. I oc'ed the card to 540mhz core and 1.1 ghz memory, I still have yet to install the zalman fan. What kinda tweaks can I do to improve my score, aside from oc'ing the gpu once I get the zalman fan on.

Keeping your os fully tweaked never hurts (benchmarking or not).

Disable unnecessary services etc, check out my basic guide on my site.

Yes of course, overclocking increases the overall system performance.

do what tweaker said, disable any programs and services that you dont need using Run->msconfig. I would also reccommend using Tune-Up Utilities, it can find errors in your registry and things like that. Also defragment your hard drive often and use disk cleanup.

Im currently testing how much of a difference these things make, i got a score of 3965 on 3dmark03, and i defraged and did a bunch of other things to the computer, i'll let u know how it turns out.

ya, i did ant it only went up about 15 points, lol. not what i was expecting

thats a good score for that card and cpu. i got 3737 on mine earlier. it looks like you've already overclocked your system pretty well. you could try getting some optimised drivers and see if that gets you anywhere.

what does 3dmark test? Is it just the gpu or is it the whole system?

its primarily for graphics but there are cpu intensive tests
