How to increase brightness without messing with buttons

So i posted this question on another thread but it was limited to one game so probarly many did'nt see it.. Here goes again,

If the brightness i increased through my graphics controller is'nt working inside the game and i don't want to mess with my monitor then are there any other softwares through which we can increase our monitor brightness without touching the buttons and stuff?

I'm pretty sure if you have say an Nvida card, you can adjust it in your display properties

I do have a graphics controller where i can adjust this brightness, but unlike many other games.. that brightness not effective in this game i.e. it turns dark as soon as i enter the game and recovers the enhanced brightness as soon as i come out at the desktop again

I doubt there's much you can do, then, if software brightness doesn't help. Typically it'll hold in games. Perhaps it's the different resolution/Hz you're running, if you are using something different in the games.

It works for almost everygame.. and what did you mean something different in the game?

Have you tried to just turn the brightness in the settings in the game

offcourse.. theres a brightness bar and its full, but even that brightness is not enough to see things clearly

my uncle gave me this thing, you go into the little task-bar for this game, rtcw and type something 'gamma' in and it'll change the brightness. anyone else know what i'm talking about?
