How to increase FPS?

Just a quick question, if I'm running a game like MW2 at about 30-60 FPS, what would be the best way to increase the FPS?

My graphics card is a GeForce 7600 GT, which is pretty old and not that good. What would you recommend getting to increase it to maybe 80fps or so, at 1680x1050, and probably lowest graphic settings.

You will get a decent frame boost by taking your resolution down a bit. Games do not need to be played at the highest resolution of your monitor.

EDIT: If your PSU is up to it, you can also overclock. That will help the performance a bit.

30-60 fps is pretty good actually. Are you noticing any stuttering?

I hope you mean you can overclock your GPU... don't know how you would overclock a PSU lol.

Specifically, turn off Aero. That'll give you a boost. Make sure any unneeded processes are turned off. Make sure your drivers are up to date.

That's pretty much it. Also, lower some settings that aren't needed, such as shadows or other things like that.

I meant PSU. If it does not have the power to handle an oc it will give you instabilities.
