How to "install" Wireless Router

Hey guys, so I have this Linksys W-G Router that my dad found and he wants to know if it works. How could I test if it works? We have a Belkin W-G router at the house. What would I need to do to "install" the Linksys one to test if it works?

I've looked in Google for drivers but I'm not too sure if a driver is needed to install a Wireless Router.

Thanks! :D

A driver is not needed. All you need to do is shut down your existing modem and router, unhook existing router from network, hook new router into network, turn modem back on and let it boot up fully, turn router on and let it boot up fully, check for internet on PC.

^ Thanks john. I tried but it didn't work. I turned computer off, unhooked the current router (Belkin) and hooked the Lynksis one, turned the computer back on and no Internet.

Once the Lynksis router was hooked up, my dad's Laptop did find a Linksys signal but couldn't actually Connect to it.

Any comments?

Did you reboot the modem? If you don't the router most likely won't find the internet from modem.

I don't think I did, how do you do that? I know I reset it, with the button on the back but I don't know how to "reboot" it if that's a different thing.
