How to lower temperature?

My computer currently runs at 43c, the CPU at 60c, when im just surfing the web and stuff. Both of those figures raise by upto 8c when I'm doing stuff like playing games. I've just ordered some more RAM and a new graphics card, so my first question is, will these raise the temperature? Secondly, what are my options for keeping the system cool and which are the most effective ways?

I'd really appreciate any help on this matter.

60 degrees is not considered high for the CPU underload. If you really want to lower the temp, then get a custom heatsink and cooler.

60c is pretty damn high for a proccesor actually. around 40 is good 60 is already 110+ degrees in fareinheit

what cpu is it? what is the ambient temp in the room were the pc is?
there are things you can do to bring the temp down a decent thermal past for the cpu something like artic silver 5, a new heatsink and fan zalman are good but remember to take into acount how much space you have in your case because some third party heatsinks can be quite large, also giving the pc a good clean to remove all the dust from inside the case if you feel confident enough to do that.

I'm using an AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 754 Socket at 2.0Ghz. I've opened my case and moved it next to a window and its dropped by 7*c to 53*c. I've already cleaned it out, but the wires inside are all over the place. I'm gonna bundle them up and see if it helps, and if it still pushes 60*c when fully loaded I'll buy a new heatsink and use thermal paste.

My Dual Core 925 at 2.3ghz is 30*C and at 3.0GHZ is 55*C( at most ) kind of worried for you . man . get some fan for your casing ? and if possinle get a new cooler .

here:

An aftermarket copper/copper core/aluminum HSF with good airflow... 35CFM regular or 50CFM for overclocking

case fans with good CFM, 120MM fans move more than 80MM fans, if you have a side vent, make sure theyre aimed at the HSF (heatsink fan), so you can gain a bit of airflow and RPM.

TP? (thermal paste) everyone around is using arctic silver 5 high density thermal compound. works great on my computer

wires, yes they could be blocking air from the fans. bundling them up should help =).

the ram and g card... they might make a few more degrees in heat, so be prepared...

another way is watercooling, maybe a bit of an overkill for you

if it still pushes 60*c when fully loaded I'll buy a new heatsink and use thermal paste.

Do you mean that it doesnt currently have thermal paste? because it willl run a lot cooler if it does. And my room gets quite dusty so i have to vacuum out the cpu heatsink every week lol. maybe that only happens to me, but full of dust it runs at about 55-65*. under load it can reach 70*celcius. but when i clean it out it goes down to about 40-50* celcius lol

60C for a 3000+? thats insane! my 3200+ at 2.4GHz was at 43C, full load, standard heatsink. You should look into paste or a new cooler.

Post above ^

Agreed. No thermal paste will raise your temperature alot. Without thermal paste my computer rose 30C, and remember that that white stuff thats called thermal paste when you buy a heatsink or a motherboard isnt as goood as arctic silver 5
