How to make Windows ME look like Windows Whistler

I am using windows me on a flash drive and i don't want it to always have that classic windows look to it but i don't want it to look too much like windows xp.
I want it to look like windows whistler because whistler kinda has a unique look to it. So can someone find a site for me please that some made windows me look like whistler. I will appreciate it. :)

I don't think you'll be able to find anything because Whistler was just the codename for what became XP. The Whistler OSes were just early builds pre-release/beta builds of XP.

There's so many different builds of Whilster too. Some of the early ones look almost exactly like 2000, some of the later ones look a bit different but I don't think you'll find any theme packs for it, sorry. :(

ok spirit can you find something that will make my computer look like windows xp then but i just thought they would have theme packs for whistler because they got theme packs for longhorn

You can do it.You have 2 ways I can think of...EASY WAY and HARD WAY.

EASY WAY (recommended):

Try to find some themes to install and then apply them.I had a program like that once, but I just can't remember how it was called. It even had Vista skins and it was supported all the way to Windows 98.
Anyway I found a nice program for you called WinShake which is supported all the way from Windows 98 and later. And since Windows ME is newer than Windows 98,it will also work to you. Here is a link:

HARD WAY (recommended IF you are crazy enough to do that lol):

Modify OS files which are responsible for the looks such as "explorer.exe" or how ever it's called in Windows ME using programs like Resource hacker by replacing let's say IMAGE data with the one you want such as IMAGE data for the look from Windows XP OS.
But like I said...this is crazy and requires a LOT of work, but it WILL work great. However you MUST know exactly what you are doing otherwise you will screw up the OS.And you might need to know some programming basics too.
I definetely recommend you to just use the EASY WAY I wrote above. ;)

Cheers!

Never heard of Windows Whistle, I just looked it on google images and I must say I like the start menu look. Pretty sharp wish we could have seen something like that on a version Windows.

It's basically what became XP. Like Longhorn became Vista and Blackcomb became 7.

It was never released officially because it was beta software so the only way of obtaining a build (because there were hundreds of them) is *you know how* *cough* *cough*.

I've been meaning to load one of the older Longhorn builds on a spare HDD, just for kicks. Now that was a weird OS, with all that good ol' Microsoft "innovation." :P

It's interesting looking at beta builds of Windows. I was always quite fascinated by it all. :)

For a while, I ran Windows 8 Developer Preview as my main OS. It was the last revision to include an optional registry hack to re-enable the classic start menu. With that hack enabled, it was basically Windows 7 with the under-the-hood improvements of Windows 8.

i wish i can install windows longhorn because i heard it works well on usb hard drives but i only have cds does any body know any longhorn builds that small enough to burn on cd

hey i found out what works i windows blinds 3.0 but can any body find a theme of windows xp zune for windows blinds for me plaese

IMO Microsoft should have released those beta names for the official release, Blackcomb sound way cooler then Windows 7 but that is just my two cents.
