How to move a hdd from A PC to B PC ? A hdd in PC A before has been install OS. Now i want to move it to B PC. How can i to do it? Will my B PC sucess boot from hdd A? How to boot? anyone can teach me? thanks.

Just unplug the HD from one PC and plug it into the other, power cable and the IDE or SATA cable. Set the jumpers on the back of the drive to master if it is a ATA drive, the settings can be found on the drive's maker's website. Set the boot sequence in the new PC or check to make sure that HDD0 if it is master is on the boot list and remove any bootable media. I think you might have to reinstall because of a different harware configuration.

if you want to use it as the main boot drive on pc b make sure you reformat, and save your data!

i don't want to format first because i got some important data in that hard disk, so now i would like to copy out that files. This A hard disk only has one partition that is c drive so i must boot into first. i also know that hardware configuration wasn't the same so may i ask u all if not format it, will it safely boot into that c drive?

thanks for ur all reply. :)

Well if you want to save the data from HDD_A then install it onto PC_B as a non-booting drive and make your backups :)
