how to open up ports...

haha

alright so i have two computers hooked up to the D-Link DI-704UP router...and i need to open out the ports 6112-6119...ive trying looking at the site http://portforward.com/, and followed the instructions...but it didnt seem to work...any suggestions? thanks

Type in your routers ip address in your IE address bar. Then look for something called 'virtual servers'. I'm not 100% sure it'll be called that because i have a belkin router.

Note: Make sure you do the TCP as well as the UDP.;)

is that the only step because ive done that...heh

except instead of doing one udp and one tcp for each port...i went and did "both" for each port cuz i thought that would save time n space...was that a dumb move?

I don't understand what you are saying? You said you didn't do the UDP and TCP, but then you said you did them both!

like theres an option as...udp, tcp and both

so i chose both instead of doing each port twice..does that clear it up lol sry

alright thanks...but is this the only step that i need to take to open those ports up? thanks so much

Yes, thanx. Why not try doing the TCP and UDP seperately then.;)

ok so i just tried it seperately and it didnt work....im so confused lol...i think wht im going to do is im going to press the reset button to reset to manufature defaults and try to do it all over again...
