how to over clock a64 3700+ venice 939

WARNING! OVERCLOCKING ANY COMPONENT VOIDS THE WARRANTY, UNLESS THE MANUAL STATES OTHERWISE!

When booting up your computer, push the Delete button repeatedly to get into the BIOS. Every BIOS is individual but usually the FSB settings can be found in the Frequency option. Then up the FSB, by a few MHz first, like max 15MHz and then exit the BIOS and restart, save the changes made of course. Then using Speedfan look at your CPU temps, test your computer with a CPU intensive game/program to check system stability. If it doesn't crash then you can up the FSB a bit more, then test again. But be sure to check the temps. Your idle temps shouldn't be around 60C, I'm usually a bit concerned if it's over 50C. But if your made of money then I guess you don't have to be afraid. I usually increase the FSB with increments of 5-10MHz. When your computer crashes easily in games and applications, decrease the FSB, cause you've gone too far.

The first time I overclocked I did it by accident, up'ed the FSB by 66MHz and brought the temps up from ~40C to 55C. I got a bit worried. :P Now my FSB is 175MHz, CPU stock is 133MHz, the mobo was originally 100MHz. Temps 42C idle with some extra cooling nowadays.
