how to overclock AMD 64 SEMPRON 3000+

ive got an amd sempron 1.8 64 bit 3000+processor on a WINFAST 760 GXK8MC board, ive never overclocked before but am wanting to get a bit more speed out of this pc. can anyone o0ffer any info about this set up or offer any tips or steps

That is completely untrue. AMD's products overclock quite well too. Seen here it overclocked quite well and compared with the 3800+. That is quite good considering price difference.

Think thats a 754? If it is and your running DDR400 drop it back to 333, lower your HT to 3 then start slowly raising your FSB

And the statement you made about AMD's not being able to OC well isn't true.

it was an old AMD anyway, new AMD's are a lot better from what i seen from your posts

your ram is labeled ex. ddr400 or pc3200 you can check inside.
but if you OC use a good ram.

thanx, do i need to change the heatsink and fan? im using the ones that came with the cpu that i bought last week

just been into bios and had a look at things.heres what i see but dont know what to change or where it is
h.t speed is 800mhz (options of 600mhz or 400mhz
cpu clock is 200 mhz
mem voltage is default
system clock is default

my memory is "team 256 ddr 400

ok guy's i turned of auto detect cpu clock in bios and altered cpu clock fromm 200 mhz to 220 mhz, restarted computer and its now saying my cpu is 1.98 not 1.8.can i take it higher and is there anything else i need to set.someone said earlier to drop somthing down to 333 and to lower ht. but i cant find these any help would be appreciated
