how to play duke 3d on xp!!!!

I have tried alot of things but none of them work. I dont know much about dos other than its old and is like an operating system? I have the game itself and a mini dos thing its called dosbox. When I click on the icon to install the game itself it gives me a message about how my computer doesnt support the software. I don't know what I'm talking about but I wanna play duke nukem 3d!!! Please help!!

I think with this (When I click on the icon to install the game itself it gives me a message about how my computer doesnt support the software.)coming up your computer you may need upgrading to the system requirements of the game.If you put what your computer is and OS,Ram and what not i'm sure someone will put you right.

What version of dosbox are you using? I'm using 0.70 and report no problems, although i'm using windows 7 64-bit os.

Meaning you tried to run the program from Windows Explorer? That won't work, since it'll try to run it under Windows - you actually have to open dosbox first and then run the install program from dosbox command line. It's a bit tricky if you're new to dosbox and the DOS command line... but it's got pretty good built-in help that should get you started.
