I'm new to the whole computer gaming scene, and I was just wondering how you guys play. For example is it mostly mouse and keyboard, or do most of you use controllers?

Mouse and keyboard for most all games. FPS, role playing, third-person, etc all use those. Even alot of simulator games and racing games can be done solely on the keyboard. A controller can be fun for flight games or racing games, but only if you want to shell out the extra cash.
 
keyboard all the way! that's one big reason why i like computer gaming more than console, other than graphics.
 
Look at your keyboard. Keys "w,a,s,d" are organized in the compass directions "N,S,E,W" like a directional pad. These are the primary gaming keys in most FPS style gmaes, laong ith other styles. Commonly they move your charater left, right, up, or down. Affectionatelly known simply as "WASD" :D
 
ya the keyboard and mouse combo is better than controller.
but controller is better at: racing games, fighting games, and flying planes.
 
for fps, keyboard/mouse has much quicker reaction ability and accuracy. racing games i prefer wheel/pedals, and flying i prefer a stick. but a gamepad will suffice.
