How to protect a file from deletion??

How can I protect a file in such a way that no one can be able to delete or shred it with any software?? Or I can password protect it for this??

simplest way may just be to hide the file using windows own hide files and folders feature.

There are utilities for protecting folders and files. You have to bear in mind that things can go wrong like you forget the password or the program becomes corrupt or it's hacked. Nothing is foolproof. If the files are of value, store them off the computer too so they can be replaced. I only use the off-PC option plus making the file read-only.
