How to reassign drive letter

hi guys looking for some advice of how to go about reassigning drive letters.

recased and setup an older desktop, but the drive letters are a mess, the windows partion is j, dvd drive is k

there nothing else connected to it now, so can someone tell me how to assign c to windows as normal

Which OS are you using?

Try this link for reassigning root drive letter.

And as for the other drives if using Windows 7 right click computer go to Manage then to Storage then to Disk Management and Reassign Drive Letter(Right Click the Drive).

For all of the above you should be logged in as administrator.

thanks mihir i will give it a try tommorow, the system on that machine is xp home sp3
