    Hey guys!

I'm new here and not sure if this is the right forum (plz help me out!)

    Here it goes,

I want to record cable TV to my computer.
I do not desire to purchase any TV card, i just want to use RCA to USB cable.
    like this.

The only problem is that they suggest Windows Media Center as a program and I use Windows XP.

Therefore, I need you to suggest a Windows Media Center like software.

    Any ideas???

As a rule I do not click on 1st time poster links. Would you like to explain? I am certain you look like a bot.

    A bot?

Well, I thought I was clear.

    Here's another shot,

I need you to suggest a software that can record TV shows from cable TV to my computer.

    something like that

I want to use a USB to RCA cable and save the cost of TV Tuner Card.

According to the link of my first message it is doable.

The question is if you can suggest any software that can do that?

    Thank you!

If you're paranoid, then right click and "copy link location" :p

You could probably get a Pinnacle pack at Staples or Best buy that would do the trick.

Not according to your first link! The first item on their list is "Purchase a USB digital TV capture device".

    you're right!

    I missunderstood that...

So I guess I'll have to buy a capture device\TV card.

    Thanks for the trouble guys!
    sorry... :)

I have a feeling, though (having tried this), that the signal may be encrypted?

One assumes that if you have cable TV that you have the cable box to decrypt the stations you have paid for.
